Since the initial release of this product, we have been hard at work enhancing our Terraform integration to bring the latest and greatest features to your Datadog monitoring experience. We are excited to introduce several key features that streamline monitoring and governance across your organization’s Terraform environment.
Along with these new metrics and features, we have also put effort into rearranging the dashboard, using new Datadog dashboard customization tools that make the new dashboard provide a cleaner, more intuitive experience. The new design allows you to spot critical issues faster and easier with improved layouts, color schemes, and visuals at a glance.
One of the new additions is a list of recent runs per your Terraform workspace, which now includes details like the number of days since the last run and the status of each workspace. This provides a clear overview of workspace activity, helping teams quickly spot areas needing attention and outlining in color what may require immediate remediation across the board. Alongside this, we have also included a list of modules per organization, giving an overview of how many modules are present in each workspace. This feature makes it easy to track module usage and helps in ensuring consistent module management.
We’ve also implemented a team token management feature that lists all tokens across your organization’s teams. This feature highlights expired tokens, tokens without any expiration dates, and shows the time since each token was last used by that team. This will help administrators to enforce hygiene and security best practices across their environments.
Additionally, we have introduced a list of resources per workspace, offering counts of resources and details about the providers in use. This helps teams better understand their resource distribution and providers, enhancing insight into infrastructure configurations.
A highly requested feature we have now updated and enhanced is the ability to monitor Terraform drift metrics. We’ve improved the dashboard to show all workspaces that have passed, failed or encountered errors in their health checks. The drift metrics also indicate whether resources have drifted or returned to their desired state, providing visibility for maintaining consistency across your infrastructure.
All of these updates and improvements are designed to improve visibility, security, and operational efficiency, making it easier than ever to manage Terraform environments with Datadog through RapDev’s integration.
